I bought three of these at GW Live, and although I can see thick roots coming out of the pots, there are no leaves, what could I be doing wrong?

Nothing. Bulbs often produce lots of roots before sending up leaves. They flower before the leaves come too, but will need a large pot at the the bulbs get huge.

How large, Dee? They are in 2ltr pots and theres not a lot of room in there now, also, have I planted them deeply enough?, Ive been on a couple of sites last night and they had conflicting advice, and one had them confused with Hippeastrum (sp) I have them with the necks of the bulbs just proud of the compost. I have never grown these before and the bulbs looked enormous and exotic, so I couldnt resist, but now Im getting nervy, can you tell? Also they were £3.50 each, which seemed ok, but not if I kill them.....

The bulbs can be as much as 8"-10" across, so better start preparing those huge pots You've planted them correctly, but they do need a very, very well drained compost when grown in pots and they're not fully hardy - to about 2 degrees.
