Hi CB
This may sounds absolutely mad but once you know how the different rose types grow, make them do what you want them to do - in the capacity that they can do it.
For example I have two climbers that I keep as large bush roses - simple reason there isn't enough room where they are and I was determined to have them. They look great. I also have bush roses that I have allowed to grow bigger than usual and because they naturally are a bit "bald" underneath I have planted small plants to make up for that.
Hybrid Teas - well I think that you either love them or hate them, - I have a couple - just because the blooms are gorgeous. I prefer bush roses and historical roses in particular.
Historical roses make a fantastic show if planted in groups of three. You need a big garden but 6 roses - 2 x 3 would look fantastic. Rose de Rescht is a lovely rose or the Austin Roses if you prefer.
Roses and perennials will always make a good show and I personally would choose bush roses but that is only my opinion.
