Hia! I today noticed that my hair alliums have started to show new growth from the previously dead stems that I've left on. This doesn't seem normal to me but I would appreciate any advice about what I should do!!
Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought there is anything you can do - I think the crazy weather we have at the moment is causing plants to act out of character - I don't think they know which way is up at the moment.

Well I hope I don't lose them - they are fantastic plants and I'd be gutted if a cold winter killed them off coz they are daft enough to think it's spring!

Plocket, my Dutch irises and netcardasporums (sp.?) are sending up shoots too - I think it must be the weird weather ... cheers ...

Plocket, are they growing leaves? I have some smallish blue alliums (can't remember the name) planted about a year ago. Last autumn & again this year they grow leaves at this time but don't actually flower until late spring.

Yes! The leaves are about a foot tall at the moment - surely they shouldn't come until spring as they flower in the summer? I'm confused!!! ;(
