Well sort of! I've had a little win on the Premium Bonds - I've won £50!!
Has anyone else ever won? Over the years I've had the odd pay out but nothing major: I think the biggest win I've had is £100. And have you had your premium bonds for a long time?

Waheyyyyyyy ! Nice one Plocket
I won £50 once, a long time ago. I still check the numbers occasionally but I never really win anything. I've only got £104 worth though (the £4 was from back in the day you could buy them at £1 a time) so I don't expect miracles !

I really don't know how much I've got now - I guess I should check! I was given some as a chirstening present and have bought new premium bonds with some of my wins, but I think at the last count I had about £500 worth. So my winnings don't account for much!!!!!

Wow, that's good! I have a single PB bought for me by my grandparents in the middle of the last century! I don't know where it is, if I've ever won anything or how to find out...I might be a millionaire but I doubt it. My mother has had a few PB's for years and over the last 5 years has won £50 a least twice a year every year which really winds my BiL up as he never wins anything!

Well done Plocket. I've never won anything on the premium bonds but my parents are like 4P's mum - they are always winning - only ever £50 or £100 though. We did have a bit of a surprise earlier in the year when a delivery man brought us a new TV and DVD player - spent ages trying to work out where they had come from & why they had been delivered to us (even emailed the delivery company to ask whether they could tell who sent them but got no reply) as we hadn't ordered them & there was no note (& our families would have asked us what we wanted if they were going to buy us a present). No unexplained money had come out of our bank account - the only thing we could think of was that we might have won them in a competition, but we couldn't remember whether we'd entered any & would have expected a note with them if that was the case. They sat in their boxes for a while just in case someone came to say it was a mistake, but in the end we thought we might as well unpack them & use them. About a month later I got a letter saying "Congratulations! You have won a Big Issue competition. Your prize is being delivered directly from the suppliers - let us know if it hasn't arrived yet " . Their timing could have been better - but I'm not complaining! It's the 2nd Big Issue competition I've won, but the other prize was some DVDs & I got a note with those!

Must say I'm surprised that Big Issue can afford to run competitions.

A lot of competitions have the prizes donated Rita, so it doesn't actually cost the charity anything. It acts as a sort of advertising for the company that makes the donation, and of course there are probably tax benefits!!!

Oh yes - they were definitely donated prizes - perhaps I should have said sponsors rather than suppliers . Our old TV was starting to die so it was very well timed from that point of view. ;D Now I just need to find a competition to win a new house!

What a lovely little surprise at this time of year Plocket, congratulations! That'll pay for the plonk at christmas - or will it? ;D I'm sure I have some somewhere, but my dad was in charge of them. He's never let on if they've won ;D

My dad's in charge of mine so I've no idea how many I actually have - and they are still in my maiden name Luckily our tiny one-branch building society know me and will still bank the cheque.
