Daughter #2 put up the tree on the 1st December, I decorated it but the lights are only on when shes in. Its sweet how she still gets excited at 17!

No, no and thrice no! Decs go up only when I can't stand the nagging any longer. Smallest daughter has put up a plastic tree in her bedroom and smothered it with decs and barbies, I may decide that's enough!

The tree in my conservatory will go up next weekend......only because I have all of my girlfriends round for a 'xmas day' next weekend! The tree in the lounge will go up on the 17th.

No chance of putting ours up for at least another fortnight. Can't stand the bloody things so I refuse to get them up until the week before.

We've started on indoors. If weather permits I'm sure OH will be desperately clambering around outside on a ladder at the weekend. He's worse than the children! I wasn't sure if it was a bit early for me, but we had to get a new tree, 7ft and nice and slim and only £20 in Wilkinsons. So now we've bought it it wasn't worth putting it in the loft. Our old tree is in the 'Ice Palace' [conservatory!] I've convinced OH not to go overboard on the outside this year, but I think the place feels a lot more cosy with reds, golds and greens around inside.

Thus far we've only put up the Christmas cards - everyone seems to be very early with them this year. Mine are written but I haven't posted them yet.

I love this board - just clicked on this link and saw an advert entitled -"Sore Post Birth Bottom"!! Had to laugh...I presume the ads are linked to the thread theme, however tenuously, the Virgin Mary sitting in her stable on a nice soft hay cushion moaning to Joseph about the state of her perineum (sp?) maybe??

Couldnt wait to put up my new 6ft black tree - £30 from Matalan Decked it out with little lights that have a small black heart and a glass purple bead which shines very prettily when the light catches it Plus some glass balls BUT no fairy Also this year will put up some garlands that you "make" yourself - they are of red robins backed with red gingham Have I done this for the kids - No kids LIVE in the house Just ME ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank you Rita!
I'm with you SS. Can't stand Xmas or religion.
Actually, Mrs cactus usually puts up some decs but always does the tree on Xmas Eve.
The grandchildren love it though.
The only decoration the cacti get is when they win at a show.

Haven't put the decs up yet but I'm struggling with the children.
They are dying to get the decs out and up so we will be doing so this weekend - I don't generally like xmas decs so it's usually just a nicely dressed tree WITH NO TINSLE OR FUR STUFF.
But, some other stuff has creeped in the last few years, we now have a xmas cloth thing for the mantle piece and some little candle stuff, actually I don't I can quite remember what we do have.....
