I've been told this one is evening primrose, does anyone know if that is correct? In September it had yellow flowers on the end of really long trailing stems. Can I cut the really long stems back?

Might be the low growing one....Oenothera missouriensis. If it is, yes you can cut the long stems back although mine at work die back naturally

Nice one TJ....they're reletively short lived. The stems should die off to leave lots of buds at the crown. Cut them back around end of march.
Lovely plant with probably one of the most beautiful shades of yellow on the planet....IMHO

Wow! That's gorgeous Rita. I don't believe I've ever seen an orange EP before. I thought they only came in yellow.

Now that really has caught my eye Rita - I have just the spot in my garden.
I love Oenothera anyway and the colour would go nicely with some other plants that I have. How is the scent?
