I have one in a small pot in kitchen, in case my little piranha scalds/burns herself. Vera has had some off-springs! My question.. Is it as easy as it looks to split them off into other pots or do they need special care? Thank you
Foz

Hi Fozzie I don't think they need any special treatment, mine suffers constant neglect on a north facing kitchen windowsill and still keeps going. Mine was a baby from my dads plant, when it produced its own I popped the babies into another pot and they did fine. I was holding off answering, because I am by far an expert on the subject, but I don't know where everyone has gone........

Thank you Jonah, I am doing similar to you and your dad, that is, potting some off spring to give to my daughters. I'll be attempting it today and/or tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Fx

I had a large plant given to me (didn't want it really but mustn't look a gift horse in the mouth). After a year or 2 it started to look a bit sad so I knocked it out of the pot and split it into, maybe, 20 rooted bits!! Only potted up 2 and I don't know what to do with them. The rest made good compost! Shame they aren't very expensive, could've sold them and retired on the proceeds! Slight change of subject........was out shopping with Mum today and saw some tights the packaging of which proudly declared they contained Aloe Vera!! What's that all about?? Didn't buy any.........I think they may have proved very uncomfortable!

;D I had to have a google SR .. evidently they are meant to moisturise your legs and make them silky smooth - I am in jeans most of the time, I wonder if anyone is making aloe vera soaked denim It is supposed to be good for cuts and burns - I will study my plant remedy books and see what they suggest x Tig

Hi Tig, fancy meeting you here! Just to complete the circle here is that original. It is so big now I have it in a bucket. I kept one of the original off spring, which if you look close is having off spring of her own. All the other off springs are with my off springs. They love it, they do not have to do anything till Vera looks a little thirsty then just give her a drink. Here are some more from the original , taken about 2 months ago. As you can see not ready for a drink yet, the leaves are still full and plump. When they start to shrink is the time to water, from the base is best. Fxx
