I've got two 2year old aboves in my garden. Should I cut cut them back now or 'just let them go' and prune whenever needed, during the growing months? They are only there to cover 20ft of paneling fencing.
As usual, any advice gratefully received

GOT IT new it would come back parthenocissus. you can remove unwanted growth in spring.
If you are happy with the way it is then leave it and cut out the bits you dont want. Hope this helps im sure that someone may be able to give better advice.

A big help Karen. I'm trawling through all the 'Trials' thinking what great pics people have posted and giving myself a virtual kick up the backside to pull my finger out and contribute ;D

Hi WB!
If you have a Virginia creeper climbing up a wall or fence, it is almost a shame to prune it. However, if the vines reach the guttering or the roof tiles, it is time to reach for the pruning scissors. Don't hesitate to prune the plant back if it gets too high or wide to your liking. This plant recovers easily.

Hi DK
They're not growing haywire so I'll leave alone. I was just wondering whether giving them a trim would encourage quicker growth this year?
BTW ... good to see your words of wisdom back here ;D
