Can anyone help retropwr with this, I've seen them before but not a clue what they are Can someone tell me what these are? They're in the grounds at work and I think I'd like some at home

They look like Crown Imperials to me

Yup they are Fritillaria imperialis (Crown imperials).

Thanks for the ID everyone A smelly plant mm , I'd better check that before I get some, or will a foxy smell keep cats away from the pond hhmmmm... I guess the next thing to do is keep an eye on them and harvest some seeds.

Is it just the bulbs that smell, as I had a good sniff around these at work today and there were no nasty niffs
