Last night the whole row of these lovely flowers were lying flat they were still in flower and were not "spent" Never grown these before so I wonder if anyone knows if they should be staked? Never seen stakes in them anywhere so wonder now if cats have been at them I tied them up with garden twine and they looked a little odd but at least they were upright but this morning three were lying flat again - You can see what they looked like, prior to this, in Jennywrenn's Garden Thread

I would guess you have not fed them!! To ensure a good crop next year you should feed them with a general fertiliser or high potash (not high nitrogen) as the commence budding. This gives the bulbs a chance to rebuild their energy for next years flowering before the leaves die back. It also stiffens the stems when they are in flower I would guess the flattening of your plant was down to rain!! If so once they dry again they should stand erect again. I often get the same problem during a wet spell; tinyurl.com/3xmxgv
