Hello all, Seeing as I seem to have a thing about spidery plants at the moment [got me off of the orchidy fixation for a while!] , I bought a packet of Aster Spider Chrysanths at the GC. These ones: seeds.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/product/7384/1 They are a HHA. Does this mean they will literally die at the end of flowering, or is it possible to overwinter them somewhere sheltered or take cuttings like other Asters/ Chrysanths? I've got some other chrysanth plants on order, but I'm a bit confused with my spiders!

I don't know the first thing about chrysanths I'm afraid, but can't you collect the seed and sow them again for next year?

I guess so Plocket, but I was hoping in the long term to maybe try and separate the colours, and the only way I could do that is by knowing what colour each plant is. I'm trying to be unrealistic again! ;D

My apologies I didn't look at the link I read 'Spider Chrysants' but now that I have looked I see that they are 'asters', which is a totally different ball game. These are half hardy ANNUALS not the perennial 'Spider Chrysant I was thinking of, as shown here; tinyurl.com/2nn9boOnce again please accept my apologies for misleading you

Hi Teegee Oh well, one minute I was , and then I was No worries, I'm going to try the tie a label round the stem and log the colour before collecting the seed approach.... I did have a feeling I was being unrealistic again, but I'll have a go. Thanks for trying to help. I'm actually waiting for an order of the real Spider Chrysanth, so I can follow that advice with them.
