I have just bought some pollen free lily bulbs from T & M called Miss Lucy  They should have cost £15 for 3  but were on offer when buying other plants for £3.99! ;D |

I always thought Pollen on Lillies were Poison to Cats--so No Pollen--then Cats should be alright--

My garden is full of gorgeous pollen-loaded Lilies, also full of cats (only one is mine). None of them seem to be coming to any harm (unlike my Golfish!  ) so I think the risk is minimal  I don't think the pollen-free one have that amazing scent, do they?  |

I saw some lilies today in B and Q - they looked good and were labelled " Asiatic lilies" would they be good for patio pots ? Would they be likely to poison my cats? What sort do you have Nightowl? ( lilies not cats!  ) |

( lilies not cats! ) I have all sorts Auricula, cos I love them Tall ones in the ground, and shorter ones in containers. All are pollen producing. I think some were called Asiatic Hybrids but not sure IMHO, I think these animal scares are like the food scares, blown up out of proportion . Don't give your cat milk, don't give your dog chocolate, don't eat dairy products, or red meat, etc, etc..... |

From what I understand-
If the Pollen gets on the Fur of the cats--they tend to 'clean' themselves and that is how they get the poison into their digestive system.
So if the Containers are at a level where the cats can't brush past them -they should be alright.
