I don't think there's going to be enough sun now to ripen them Karlslass, but being in the greenhouse might help. I just leave the olives on my tree and they drop off when they are ready to. Is the greenhouse heated, because the olive could do with some cooler weather over winter. I leave mine out all year round but it's in the shelter of the house and I wrap it in fleece over winter. Saying that though, you've probabably had your tree for a few years by the look of it, and know what you are doing

Like Plocket I doubt that they will ripen but you may have some luck. I had one ripen last year and tasted it - it was awful...
My Olive tree ends up looking rather like an Eygyptian Mumie for the winter months but it has managed minus 18 up to now.
It certainly looks a lovely tree and I would let them fall off when they are ready.

Erm.........Karl bought it for me last year and I haven't a clue !!!! There is no heating in the green house, so I think it should be alright as far as the cold goes, I dare not leave it outside (he would go barmy if it died!) I just wondered if it would spend a lot of energy trying to ripen these olives (yeuch - look better than they taste dont they !) and then be all knackered and not grow much next year. Oh hey ho - I shall leave it and see what happens. It is a lovely tree I would really like to put it in the garden and let it get all big and knotty but I really dont think it would survive a cold winter (remember them!) if we have one. Thanks any way xx

How is the Olive Tree doing, my neighbour has just got quite a large one that he has planted in a raised circle he has in the middle of his back yard. I'll try and get a photo to post

I'll try and get a photo to post Photo at last taken just now Looks like my neighbours tree is settling in quite well, it was full of black olives when he planted it but they shrivelled and dropped off, shock of being moved I guess, looks well though considering it's only been planted about 8 weeks.
