Just got the latest catalogue from Parkers and they have some Trailing Million Bells but in plugs, I have looked and T&M and Suttons sites to see if they do them as seeds but no luck. Does anyone know if or where I could get some seeds from please? They look beautiful in the catalogue but at £7.45 for 6 I think a bit expensive so thought about growing them from seed. They look a bit like Surfinia's to look at but nicer colours. Thanks for any help.

Pretty certain that they're only available as rooted cuttings (plugs) due to the plant breeders copyright etc.
Surfinas will give a much better, bolder show but as you say, the million bells have a nicer range of colours....cherry and terracotta being favourites of mine

What Andy said is right, so no seeds Carol I've tried them a couple of times and been a bit disappointed Surfinias give a much better show I think that surfinias have now been superceded by something better with a greater colour range, but I can't think of the name...oo... something like calobrachia... I haven't tried them. You can get seeds of quite a variety of trailing petunias now I think

Thank you for the info guys. NO I will check out the Calibrachoa I think thats the one you mean. Andy I like the Terracotta and Oranges best and would like to have that colour theme this year so that the bed looks like its on fire.

I don't know what the situation is here in Germany but I can certainly find out. I am also very friendly with my GC/Nursery owner.....he is away on holiday at the moment but I will be seeing him in February and can ask if you want me to.

I know that you mentioned you had looked at the T&M site, what about their trailing petunia "velvet series". Unfortunately, they only seem to do 2 colours in their catalogue at the moment (Purple and Salmon). They have an offer at the moment buy one packet of each for £3.99 (12 seeds in packet). Normally £2.99 per packet.
They apparently out-perform Surfinia Petunias.

Over the last few years I have bought 'plug' Surfinias and then taken cuttings from these--they soon root so it works out quite cheaply and not much further back in growth than the plug plants. This can be done with Fuchsias aswell.

I can buy small plants of Surfinias and Million Bells for about 65p each at a Garden Centre near me and buying them as early as possible means that you can take a few cuttings off them. As Biggles says - they do root quite easily

I have seen them in my local GC yesterday to they are fair sized plug plants they had both trailing million bells and surfinia. They were priced at 5.49 for 8 plants. I did buy some to
