Just had an email from T&M trying to sell me 3 White Egret Orchids for £9.99. Rather expensive, but I fell in love at first sight They are gorgeous!plants.thompson-morgan.com/product/82158/1/?OC=WSE013Anyone tried them (T&M say they're hardy) I've never seen them before.

I bought a bulb from ebay a few years ago for some extortionate amount and i couldn't provided it with the correct conditions to grow....so it died !!! Gorgeous they certainly are but very hard to grow IME.

I'm very tempted Andy. What was it you could not supply that it needed?

I nearly posted the same question a few days ago NO when I got my email! ;D It is very, very tempting, but I think I am going to resist. I have a suspicion the flowers will be smaller than I expect, and I have been warned that it needs very specific growing conditions to perform over here. Lovely though. Maybe I'll have a go in a couple of years.

That's strange Jonah, cos they say it's frost-hardy, or is that only foreign frost? Mmm. I don't know now - if Andy couldn't keep it alive.....

NO, Stop it, just stop it!!!!! ;D Oh dear, where's that plantaholics anonymous thread, must be around here somewhere....... ;D I'm not going to order any more today. I rang up Fothergills today to check there wasn't a delivery charge for seeds, and then found myself saying 'while I'm here......' at least I got the sweetpeas I was after. ;D

We too have purchased them. TWICE! They grew ... kinda .... never even thought of flowering and faded away. We just added them to the list of plant type we can't grow.

No, Jonah, I didn't get them. I took on board that they are quite difficult to grow, and bearing in mind the problems I've had with stuff that is supposed to be "easy" ( Dutch Irises and Ixias) , I decided it would probly be another waste of money
