Bought some in the GC the other day. When can I plant them do you think? I'll put some in pots and the others at the back of the borders? ;D

To be honest I am not sure although I should try and get them in as soon as you can.

I love then but I don't love the Red Lily Beetle and haven't had any Lilies (except Day lilies ) for years now. At the GC the other day there were some gorgeous ones - I must admit that I am tempted again.

I used to do mine in pots around October time. You can plant them anytime between then and spring I've never planted them in the garden because I like to have them around a couple of the benches in the garden in the summer, Mmmmmm I can smell them now. So get ya skates on LNG ;D

Sorry for buttin into your thread LNG but I hope someone can help me on this, I have some lilies bought from the GC can I plant them in the ground now? or do you start them off in pots and then put them outside when all the frost has gone? Looks like we may have some snow this week and I didn't want to put them in too early, or are they hardy enough to stand up to the cold. I know that you can leave them in he ground once they are established. Thanks or any help on this.

you're not butting in at all carolann, I took chuckles advice and planted mine , as it turned out I planted them all in the borders and none of them in pots, some of my others are starting to peep up in the sheltered place by the wall. ;D good luck

Thank you LNG I will plant all mine then, but I may have to start them off in pots as my baby chickens keep following me all round the garden digging up where I have been weeding and I dont want them to dig up the bulbs.
