Thanks

You could try chucking them around the garden - mine seem to self seed quite happily! I've also sown some (of yours!!!) in John Innes No.2 with vermiculite on top. They germinated ok too.

Hi Sara ... this is the very first time I've actually known the answer based on experience (pride of a newbie gardener) ... if you sow them now in seed trays, you'll be able to transplant the seedlings where you want them in about a month ... they'll survive quite happily. For some reason, even though they self-seed, they don't seem to take kindly to being sown in the open ground ... cheers ...

Forgot to say, Sara, I sowed mine last year about this time and only one plant flowered this year - but now they are massive and will certainly flower next year ... just that you might have to wait for your rewards! But they are such gorgeous flowers they'll be worth it ... cheers

Mine self seed in the gravel beds like mad. They like the drainage. That and hardly any competition is the key point I think. Dutchy

i sowed mine in a pot earlier this year. still no flowers. i think they must be a bit squished so if anything survives until next year, they'll be separated to fill the neighbours beds.
