I've only ever grown Hare's Tail Grass as an annual from seed but it was fairly easy from what I can remember - just sowed it in a 3"pot into the propogator and potted it on, hardened off and planted out.

I have never grown grasses from seeds either RBJ but a neighbour once did. She bought a mixed selection of grasses and still has most of them in the garden to this day.
She has very little knowledge of gardening really but she has some lovely plants now.

I have sown 6 pots of grasses, all different, and now they are at the pricking out stage. Should I do them in little clumps or try and do them individually?

Little clumps, they grow away into good sturdy plants. I have grown various perennials they need a bit of patience before they flower though.

I've never grown grasses from seed but they have grown themselves! In some cases very prolifically, particularly Stipa tenuissima and a bronze Carex (not like the ones you see in the G/C all the time but I don't know the name) As some of them are short lived I'm very pleased that they propagete themselves for me!

I have sown 6 pots of grasses, all different, and now they are at the pricking out stage. Should I do them in little clumps or try and do them individually? I left (by mistake) the remnants of a bag of grass seed in a wheelbarrow, and when I saw it next it looked like a green wig, a thick mat of tangled root and leaf - but I tore it into a dozen chunks and 'planted' them in a bare patch of grass. They took well and a few months later were seamless. I'm rambling on, cos I reckon that rather than do anything, you allow the potfulls to grow a bit, then divide them. You should get a few dense clumps from each pot which you could plant in groups... OM.
