We have Sloe (Blackthorn) in flower, but the Damsons are not showing asny signs of life, thank goodness or we would get no fruit at all this year.

Mum and dad have got Blackthorns and Damsons but they don't look anything like yours at the moment PJ. Yours is just beautiful, but I can't help thinking of all the lovely berries which you can turn into gin or jam

Damsons? I don't recognise the name but it looks absolutely lovely. Blackthorn again something I don't recognise but I think it is the one we call Maythorn. The one that gets orange berries and grows like mad when you prune it.
Gosh Spring is getting closer and closer.

Wow PJ, seems awfully early or am I being a numpty?
No sign of blossom on my blackthorn as yet - from memory it usually comes in April and it has the loveliest smell. Cant wait.

You must live in a very sheltered area PJ, I love your lamp post. Carolann, this is my second year in this garden. We have three lamp posts which were there already. Don't often turn the lights on as OH thinks it is a waste of energy! ;D Shrub - I have no idea if it is early or not so I am no more knowledgeable than you! Plocket - Thanks for the link. I not sure but one of the photos may well have been of a blackthorn. I think I have 2 damson trees and a blackthorn. I do hope it is not so early and we don't have a frost. Last year we never had time to pick any of the fruit but a friend came and collected some to make damson jam. This year I hope to be more organised. PJ
