We are all a bit nosey I think so I am starting a new thread posting pics of neighbours gardens. To start here is a pic of next doors lovely salix - I don't know which variety. Someone may be able to identify it for me? PJ

Easy mistake to make but if you put the two side by side, there's a distinct difference. Willows tend to be more upright and slightly less twisted than hazels which form a more round shrub. I have a twisted hazel at work that is 20 feet tall

No laughing at me, Barbara PJ

I only have one neighbour next to me; the other side is a field and dont think either would inspire anyone - they tend to be non-gardeners and dont know anything about plants Last year HE cut down my flowering cherry - it wasnt in bloom - he thought it was an ash tree - we share a drive so he thought he was doing me a favour

My next door neighbour does not garden either, she buys wonderful plants but keeps them trapped in pots, the soil is just full of uninteresting weeds. Still she is a lovely neighbour.

How come us garden fanatics have non gardening neighbours? Both sides are not interested Do you think we suck up all the plantlove that lingers about in the air?
