Lawns?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I have had an e-mail from a friend asking for help with her lawn. She only has a very very small lawn area and her little girl dog Jesse likes to wee wee on it. She has asked me to ask my gardening buddies for help as there are little brown patches on it where she has done her business. Apart from taking up the brown bits and repairing it is there anything else that she can do with it please. Thanks for any help on this.

Throwing water on it immediately helps stop burning, I'm afraid that is all I know

I read an article last week which suggested giving the wooftie tomato juice in with their water - which supposedly helps neutralise the wee (according to the writer!) However a quick google on the subject came up with some for and some against this! Here is one of the againsts x Tig www.uwex.edu/ces/westwihort/news/documents/dogspots.pdf

I spoke to a vet about it and he said there was absolutely nothing you can do....one of the reasons that my newly laid lawn of last spring is now going to be slabbed.

As andy says there isn't anything that can be done - I ended up with tubs all over the lawn in the summer trying to cover it up but it took ages to clear them away to be able to mow and it did look a bit daft as well.
After my dog (bitch) died it took us two years to get the lawn OK again, even after changing the soil. On the other hand my 1st dog used to pee on all the shrubs so I am not sure what is worse.
