This year im gowing to grow all my Bedding plants for my containers and borders from seed as i usually buy them.
These are what im going to try and grow. Marigold Crackerjack Marigold Petite Mixed Petunia Pearls F1 Salvia Blaze Of Fire Ageratum Mauritious Ageratum Red Sea Lobelia String Of Pearls Nicotiana Roulette F2 Nicotiana Fragrant Cloud Salvia Phoenix Mixed Busy Lizzie Dayglow Mixed Geranium Fantasy Mixed Chrysanthemum Snowland
Im also sowing other Flower seeds but these will be going in just the borders.
Rudbeckia Cherokee Sunset Aster Millady Nasturtium Tom Thumb Mixed Antirrhinum Tequila Sunrise Antirrhinum Double Madame Butterfly Mixed Veronica Longifolia Morning Glory Sunrise Serenade Callendula Nigella Blue Pyrethrum Cleome Rose Queen Dwarf Sunflower Sunspot
I haven't got any heated propagators so im going to stagger sowing, start them off in the Conservatory then move them in to the big GH when thats full they can go into the 3 3 tier mini ones. I love a challenge ;D think ive got a big one ahead of me.
I will let you know how i get on with germination etc and post photos of my progress.

Well the GH is nearly bursting at the seams, ive sown everything apart from Marigold Crackerjack Nigella Blue and Cleome Rose Queen.
On 26th Feb i sowed Rudbeckia germination poor French Marigold Petite germination 16 out of 24 Ageratum Mauritious germination poor Ageratum Red Sea germination poor Nicotiana Roulette germination 3 out of 24 Nasturtium Tom Thumb germination excellent 21 out of 24 Geranium Fanyasy Mixed germination 2 out of24 now 0 Salvia Phoenix Mixed germination 0 Antirhhinum Madame Butterfly germination average Antirrhinum Tequila Sunrise germination poor Veronica Longifolia germination poor Crysanthemum Snowland germination average Callendula germination 0
All that have had poor germination could be due to being sown too early or not been in a heated GH or propagator, im keeping a record to compare agaist when i re sow.

Karen, I am so impressed with you. It is a time consuming exercise sowing seeds. I have only managed to sow 3 lots of seeds this week. Wherre do all the plants go when they are redy to plant out. I have to find a vacant bed for all my sweetpeas I started growing in the Autumn. Just noticed your germination rate with Nico Roulette was only 3 out of 24. I have just ordered 2 varieties from ebay.<yikes>
Best wishes PJ

I have re sown everything that has had poor germination again on the 18th of March apart from the Geraniums i need to buy more seed.
I also sowed some Dahlia Dwarf Border 8 have germinated so far out of 12.
PJ i think its because its cold that my seeds have failed to germinate, im going to keep on trying though.
