we (in the royal sense), have an 18th century cobbled court yard, hidden beneath 20cms of leaf mould and time. when my lovely husband (if it's not broke don't fix it/surfey dude) goes on his wave chasing, money spending, buddy loveing holiday, i am not envious, i will perform, i have a cobbled courtyard to exhume. this is "fait a complé" what would you, do when you'r lesser half wasn't there?  |

My OH is a laid back, if it's broke don't fix until you have too, rather go to the pub than anything else type but whether he's here or not I do most of the stuff that needs doing....if it's a blokey job that he would do much better I generally struggle until he can't stand it any longer......then the job gets done! When he is away smallest and I eat all the foods he can't bear (that's nearly everything then), watch all the TV we can't when he's here (male remote control syndrome) and carry on as normal.... ;D 20cms of leaf mould AND an 18th century cobbled courtyard! Wow..........let him go and enjoy yourself! |

The same as always really. My OH lets me get on with the house and garden and if somethings going to be a radical change I ask for his opinions first, but generally he's easy going and lets me do what I want.
Have fun with your courtyard - what a lovely project.

Fantastic project SS! I'm pretty much 'allowed' to do what I want gardening-wise! And OH does pretty much what I ask of him gardening-wise!! Sometimes under protest but not often ;D

I'd paint the kitchen & bathroom as OH thinks they don't need doing - I think they do! If he wasn't here I wouldn't have to have him standing behind me & telling me how I'm doing it wrong.
But once the tiny bathroom & kitchen were painted which wouldn't take me long (those paint pads are amazing btw), i'd miss him. ;D
