Meant to say FB - all the cuttings I've taken ( about 6) have rooted quite easily...I hadn't realised they took so well from cuttings - I'll do more next year ;D

Just been out to shut the greenhouse and on the way I pass both potted brugs. The yellowy/orange one has 14 flower pods and the pink one has 10. I hope the warm, bright weather holds so that they can open properly

Are they all a lot later than normal or do they usually flower into the autumn like this?

Mine were late getting going LG,because of the very cold spring we had,but the yellow ones are later than the pink ones, that i lost last winter, they start flowering end June,or July

Mine were late too this year LG for the same reason. They do go on well into the autumn though - and mine sometimes don't lose their leaves in winter

Thanks FB - I've got buds too, on this one and the other one. The temps should be ok here for another few weeks so I'm hopeful they all come out before I have to fleece the pot

FB.....or anyone else who knows My brugs are in large pots which will have to be left in situ. They should be ok, but I wondered if I should cut them back a bit before I cover them with fleece. If I don't, it will be very hard to get the fleece jacket over the widest bit of the branches up high.I don't really want to do it because I feel it gives them added protection and I can cut off the mushy bits in the spring. What would be best??

I would leave them if poss Auricula, you may be letting the cold in through the cut
