Help FB!!! 2 of my Brugs are in leaf but the 3rd one has no sign of leaves at all I scraped the bark and it is green, so I am tempted to wait a while before I chuck it out What do you think ? Could it still grow leaves...or has it had it?? It has been with the others in an unheated greenhouse - but, I did have an electric heater on a timer for 4hrs per night when it was cold. The top of the stem is soft, but the bottom 2/3 of it is fine.......help!!

I bought a Brug from the GC yesterday - its one of those poor things in a cardboard box and it was sooooooooooooooooooooo dry and dead looking I told the lady in the garden centre off for not watering them! anyhoo I have given it a jolly good soak and put it into a decent sized pot and its looking a hundred times better. I have wanted one for years Cant tell you how pleased I am that I finally got one ;D We still have frosts up here probably until the end of may so should I keep it in the GH all the time or will it tolerate cold morning air ? I go to work about 7am so they all get turned out of the greenhouse about then and its still fairly cool (or bloody freezing) that time in a morning some days but then it gets really hot through the day and Im 11 miles away and cant very well nip back to get them out

They can put up with some cool air KL,as long as its not below freezing,so i would listen to your weather forcast, and if frost is forcast, leave it in GH,
Give it plenty of water, and you need some drain holes in the bottom of the pot,and feed it with Phostrogen

The leaves on mine are a bit yellow I have been feeding and watering so I guess it's the erratic temperatures

You got shares in phostrogen FB ?? I went back to the GC today and all the plants have been watered I should think so too! I will leave it in overnight and fetch it out first thing. should be alright if I put it by the house where its sheltered. I have put loads of broken pots in the bottom and it seems to be draining ok, got that silly swelling up compost by mistake tho so I'll have to keep an eye on it

Something has been nibbling the leaves of mine, to what are they susceptible? ? I put slug pellets in the pot

I have found tiny green caterpillars on mine in past years,Auricula,so i sprayed them with a bug killer, that did the trick,i to thought it was slugs at first

I took a cutting from a brug 2 years ago and although it is growing well it is yet to flower. Do they always take so long to come into flower?

Do you mean what the flower has left after it has died,or is it about to open into a flower

Just seen this post,i have had cuttings flower the same year,if ive taken them early enough, but they should flower the next year anyway,2 yrs seems a long time
