I'm so pleased to say that my hips/back have been so much better over the last 2 days that I have actually managed to do several hours gardening!!! HOORAY!!! I have weeded half my long herbaceous border ( even though OH has to help me up from a kneeling position ) and planted cuttings/divisions/plug plants in the gaps.I was really worried that the garden and particularly this border ( which is very labour intensive)would get out of hand but it's looking tons better already and I can't wait until tomorrow to complete the job The only downside is that it catches up with me later and I can't lie down/sleep - which is why I'm wittering on at this time of night . Sorry to go on but I wanted to share my excitement with my friends

Ooops... meant to say that I've just come around to the glories of Phlox - never grown them before last summer, but now they're a favourite of mine,Can anyone tell me the best way to propagate them, can I take cuttings, divide them or what? ( I'm not very good with seeds )

Slow down a little bit Auricula!!! Cor blimey, I hope you haven't paid too much of a price!! How are you feeling now? It is rather exciting to be getting stuck in though, isn't it!! Just be careful. ;D You divide phlox about now. You can also do basel cuttings now too so if you have any new shoots that are long enough to take off, pot them up!!

Wonderful news that you got some gardening done but I hope you aren't suffering now. Enjoy the less painful moments but don't overdo things!!

Good to be back on track eh Don't over do it but do enjoy. I just devide phlox like Amo already suggested. Never needed to take cuttings as dividing gave me enough extra plants.

Hi Auricula. Glad to hear you feel well enough to get back out in the garden, but be careful you don't overdo it. Just take it slowly. I managed an hour yesterday in my garden, which has been neglected for the last 5 months. It felt good to be out there, but I came in shattered. Hope to get out and do a bit more this afternoon.

Glad to hear you've been out enjoying your garden again, Auricula ;D Nothing so good for the mental health as getting your hands dirty!

Yes it's super to be outside isn't it? Don't think the weather is going to be very good over the weekend though

Glad to hear you've feeling well enough to be out in the garden Aricula. But don't overdo it, it's easy to get carried away and end up sorry for it. I divided my phlox in the autumn and they're coming on now. ;D
