Congratulations on your wedding, Zhuzhu - the pics looked lovely! Re. your garden, this link may be of help: home-n-stuff.net/gardening/socal.htmlYou're in Zone 10, you lucky girl, which means you can happily grow all sorts of quite tender plants which we have to nurse through the winter in Europe! Ggggrh! I'm seeing fences covered with Bougainvillea, an island bed of Datura surrounded by small cannas, front door flanked by Oleanders .... and you absolutely have to have a Jacaranda tree ... sorry, these are not properly thought out design suggestions, just projecting my sub-tropical fantasies ;D ... As others have said, see what grows well in gardens around your area ... cheers ....

Congratulations on your wedding Zhuzhu, and best wishes for your new life together Please keep in touch with us even though we can't offer a great deal of advice on gardening in sunny California. It's fascinating to watch any garden developing from scratch, and yours promises to be fantastic with all those gorgeous plants like CC mentioned which we can only dream of We can offer lots of advice on dealing with frost, snow, and too much rain, but I don't suppose you have too much of a problem with any of those in San Diego ;D Good luck with husband, house and garden
