got back from a working trip with this, destined for the skip: Maybe an Elaeagnus... any ideas? Anyone else 'finding' stuff? If so, bung it on here... OM.

It does look like an Elaeagnus OM, although it appears to have a compact habit. Mine and most of the ones I have seen tend to sprawl and have a larger leaf. Could it be Elaeagnus pungens maculata? Tig

Well, whatever it is (and I thought it might be one of the two, just jumped the wrong way... huh! that Hessayon, what does he know??) it's joined the 'welcome shrubbery' at the entrance to MolePlace today, together with a laurel I 'found' and potted up last year... happy days..
