Just called into our local GC to see what they had and discovered 2 huge terracotta pots full of bits of broken pots and a sign saying 'Crocks - please help yourself' so I did! I've always wondered what happened to the broken pots and I've often thought of asking if I could have some but I've never been brave enough! Now I have enough crocks to put at the bottom of a lot of pots! I did buy 2 new pots for my nerines...because I needed something to carry the crocks home in! If anyone is near Crowborough there are plenty left! ;D

Like it Jasmine ;D if you don't ask you don't get is what I say. Not always easy to pluck up the courage though is it. I saw a large broken pot at a GC last year, had a chunk out of the side and it was on the rubbish tip, with it's broken bit. It was quiet when I went to the check out so I asked It now sits outside my back door and I was a real cheap skate and wired around the broken bit to hold it in place. It's got a Honeysuckle growing in it and some Sweet Williams and seems fine. Probably won't last many frosty winters but it was free ;D

It'll probably surprise you and last for ages Chuckles! I think I was a bit worried about asking at our GC as my Mum once asked for a broken bit of plant and was told she couldn't have it as it was company policy broken bits went in the bin. What a waste! She should probably have just put it in her pocket - or maybe that isn't very honest.
