Any plant suggestions for my pond. It isnt too big and anything I have planted has taken over and had to be removed. I would like some greenery and have some marsh marigolds and primulas planted around the edge, but need something actually in the water. there are some areas with shelves so any depth planting would be fine. I know I could get ideas from books but its nice to have advice from friends in the know!!! ;D ;D ;D CJ PS Nearly fell in the damn thing on Sunday cleaning it out. OH thought it was hilarious.

Most marginal plants will grow to an extent where a "mid summer cut back" will be needed. Among the not so vigorous species where the crown of the plant will happily sit in up to 6" of water are
Iris Pseudochorus Astilbies Hostas Lobelia cardinalis Acorus sp marsh marigolds Pickerel weed (pontederia) Arrowhead Water plantain Ligularia
