My parents have a gorgeous wisteria....usually with upward of 200 flowers on it.
But in the past week, a small group of sparrows have stripped it clean of buds. Every single one has been munched.
My dad has chased them away when he can but they're straight back.
It's the first time i've heard of this happening....anyone else has it done to them ?...and can anything be done about it ?

Short of shooting the Sparrows! But they're too quick for that. Perhaps they'll get fed up with Wisteria buds eventually. It may delay flowering but the plant wants, no needs, to flower so your Parents will probably have a talking point this summer, a Wisteria in full flower when others just have the odd summer flower. Hope so anyway.
No such chance for my Tulips which made their flowers in the bulb last year and which have been eaten by, I think, the collared doves!

I haven't had sparrows eating buds, but we used to have a climbing hydrangea on the shed and mice ate all the buds one year.
