I shall go and look for my Peach Cobbler, just looked at Haylofts picture of it and it is more of a pinky peach than an orange peach! Well mine was out this morning, definitely more of a reddy peach than a pinky peach , I suppose if you look closely it is more of a very, very ripe peach than screaming scarlet though.

I had to email T & M again as I still haven't received any replacement magnolias despite them being promised for the end of May. They have said they will be sent within the next 5-7 days - if they are bareroot plants I doubt they'll do much good at this time of year

Would'nt you think they would have something that would highlight which clients have'nt been sent their orders I mean.

I've just emailed them again (bet their customer care team are fed up of hearing from me ) - on checking my 'outstanding' orders I should have received 3 clematis napaulensis by the end of May!

Tig hope you get a reply and they send them on. Remember my saga about the council spraying weedkiller at the allotment and destroying my Rhubarb, some Strawberries and SP. I'd spoken to the head council man and he offered to replace the above. I settled for just the Rhubarb as I do have a good few Strawberries and I would'nt accept bought SP. I got a text from him a little while ago to say he has asked the council men to leave 2 varieties of Rhubarb and some bags of Farmyard manure on my plot. I'm pleased with that and hope to get to the allotment tomorrow all being well. Hopefully they'll be safe until then and nobody will lift them.

Yes indeed Auricula I'm very pleased. We have an allotment meeting tuesday night, (the one last week was cancelled because of G8) and although I sent him a thank you text I'll make it official then.

Wait until you've been up tomorrow LG - the council men may have fancied some well manured rhubarb

I could'nt wait and went up last night lol Tig . I did'nt want to leave 2 pots of Rhubarb and the manure bags all sitting there ripe for the picking. I've moved them so they're not obvious to anyone passing by. Some of the other plots have got FYM too I see. We did say at the committee meeting that giving some to the new plot holders would encourage them perhaps.

Yes fingers crossed Tig I have taken 2 bags home and put them in the covered back yard. I'll use them for mulch and the Roses will be very pleased to see them. Not sure about the smell and the neighbours but it does say low odour on the bags .

I seem to be plagued with aphids in both the front and back gardens.....the poor roses are smothered..I have sprayed them countless times but as soon as I get rid of them the next day they are covered again.. I have tried the chemical spray stuff and homemade garlic spray....Nothing seems to be working... Any suggestions?

Missy, go and find a couple of ladybirds.
LG I bought a bag of farmyard manure from B&Q, there was no smell at all.

My garden table just tipped up because of the wind, I had 3 terra cotta pots with pelagoniums in, two are broken, I had a seed tray with red aqualegia seeds in, that is all over the lawn so no red aquas next year, I'm so glad I moved lots of trays with herbs and onions in, to the top of the shed, oh and the wallflowers as well.

Barbara what shame. It's mega windy here too and pots have been flying around the garden and toppled over. My friend and I moved as much as we could into what shelter we could find. You might see baby Aquilegia peeping up through the grass if you raise your blades and you'd be able to dig them up.

Oh no Barbara what a shame I'm getting heartily sick of all this wind, I haven't had any pots go over yet, but I've got loads of cuttings in my broken bits jar on the windowsill.

No chance of rescuing any of the aqualegia seedlings Barbara? They are quite tough little things and with the damp conditions could still grow OK. It's not windy here, quite still, just very wet.

No Tig, I'd only sown them the day before, so as LG says they might grow through the grass.
