where's the moon?

traveled in Morocco when i was 19. stayed on a farm in the atlas mountains. Mohamed el hippie,the proprietor, as he was affectionately known, had a book.
he knew every moon, half or quarter moon.he knew what moon for this, and what for that.
he had a moon book. i believe it came from his great grandfather.
comming from the north east of nowhere, i was rather releaved to find someone who appreciated the lunar cycle, in a productive way. does anyone do lunar gardening, not just get on your nighty and have a dance, but a true lunar gardener?
