Hello! I've borrowed a laptop briefly so I thought I'd say hello and give you a progress report: THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER! ;D It really is such fun - I've spoken to Toby Buckland every day! Coo! It's really interesting to see how all the pros are getting on - they have MASSIVE machinery and loadsa money......and stacks and stacks of plants....but everyone is soo friendlyand encouraging. We are virtually finished now and are just tweaking things- the assessors come round tomorrow and Prue has to do a presentation in the afternoon to the judges ( ), then it's Press Day the following day when the GW cameras and presenters arrive. I am really pleased with our garden - I think it's quite beautiful - and so do others too, which is very encouraging. You can't really miss our garden - it's called Go Native ,a little gem of native plants and an oasis of green and calm....PLEASE do all come and say hello if you are visiting. I have taken lots of pictures but haven't the techy skills to put them up until I get home - sorry.... Gotta go to sleep now - very very tired she is..but 'appy ;D

Oooo 4P, Toby Buckland - he's a new favourite of mine. Oi loikes 'im, oi does ;D Lucky, lucky you. Strikes me your garden is the sort of thing he'd love.
Great to hear that you've really enjoyed it - love the name. We're hoping to get down on Sunday. I know it's the last day but we cant get there before then. Will you still be there?

Hello everyone! The judging was today...would you like to know how we did?
WE GOT A SILVER GILT AWARD!!!!!
I am soooo proud and pleased, I can't tell you! This is a mere whisper away from a Gold...pretty good for a couple of complete novices I think....... ;D If I wasn't so old and knackered (and I hadn't had half a bottle of bubbly) I would be screaming from the rooftops! AND Toby Buckland's brilliant ethical garden (which we did a bit of work in) won Best in Show! (You heard it here first....) ;D
Phew...gotta calm down now.........teehee!!! ;D

Well done, indeed to get such a high accolade from the RHS. <thumbsupsmiley> The Go Native garden was fabulous and such a lot of hard work and attention to detail went into it. I hope that 4P and Prue will do a back-to-back garden at Tatton Park next year. All of you must glue to the TV on Friday as Joe Swift was filming in the garden when we passed by. He is holding on to the garden's thatched pergola and saying something to the effect "coming up, how an allotment artist met a challenge, and what medals the judges gave out" or something like that. He had to do several takes as he kept having an attack of 'mindius blankius' half-way through a very long programme link. I hope footage the very natural garden doesn't end up on the cutting room floor. 4P will post pictures after the show finishes on Sunday, and no doubt after she has recovered. Toby Buckland (rising star??) had an ethical garden, and Brum Allotments had done a copy of Joe's allotment (not a weed in sight). Lots of nurseries and plants in the Floral Marquee. A great day out. And we met Toadspawn and Slugger, too as an added bonus. One very tired Yakkers and OH signing off: we set off at 8am and arrived back home at 8.30pm but it was worth it.

Only just caught up with this... truly great achievement 4P and Pru, what an exciting thing to have done - when your feet have touched the ground we must have more... and assuming you're reading these accolades, your back and we want it now!
