You walk into your garden one day and find it's happened. A 'Makeover Team' have been and done their bit. So how do you feel now?? I know what my answer is but will tell you later.

I'd be devastated. I've created what I think is a lovely all year garden from what was an unloved weed filled mess. And it doesn't need making over!!! ;D

I would not be very happy at all - to put it mildly. Even my OH knows not to mess with my roses....

They could level and relay my lawns, build a summer house with a hot-tub, find space for a greenhouse, re-pave and extend my patio and put up a pergola, but if they touched my borders or veg plots there would be hell to pay x Tig

They could do the top half of mine as long as they left it natural woodland but built steps so that we could gain easier access and got rid of all the brambles. But the rest that we have already done would have to be left alone I'm afraid, been too much like hard work for someone else to re do.

Wellll........if they made my garden a lot bigger and finished off digging up the old lawn and re-laying new turf and gave me a summerhouse with a hot tub like Chuckles and a greenhouse as well, then I would be elated....Apart from that...leave it alone.

I really don't know, There have been times when I have looked at our garden and have no idea at all - I sometimes wonder if that is still the case. Part of me would love someone to come in and redesign it, then the other part of me enjoys doing it on my/our own, making mistakes and trying again. Sorry I can't decide

I'd be devastated too. Our garden does have lots more potential but I would like to deal with that when the biggest part of the garden is not needed as a footie pitch - my 2 little footie players would also be devastated if there was more plants they had to be careful of!! ;D

I dont think would object to some help and additions - for eg three nice Silver Birch trees planted at the bottom would be nice and some of the paving slabs lifted and replaced with stone gravel

I'm just about getting the garden how I like it...there's still a long ways to go tho...tell you what...if they gave me the money they would've spent on the make-over I could do it meself.... then everything would be just fine.

I'd be devastated. Whilst it would be lovely to have a team of people do some work, I'd have to supervise every second of it ;D Don't think I'd like a total makeover anyway, I love to see my garden evolve and grow as I make changes.

I never quite got the idea that you could supply all those materials, wood, paving, gravel the usual backbone of a make over, water feature, huge stone thing and then some quite substantial plants and plenty of them for an average budget of £500?!?! Which builders yard and nursery did they go to?? I mean, it would have been nice to put the suppliers at the end properly so we could all get such huge discounts.

I think some of the makeover programmes do it via advertising - ie, you provide the timber (or whatever) for free and we'll mention your company name on TV. It's amazing what these programmes get for nothing. I don't know whether it was done like that on Ground Force though.

I'd be appalled! When I think of all the work we've done over the past three and a bit years - OH laying the patio, digging up rocks, me growing things from seeds and cuttings - OK, the patio may be wonky and I may have made planting mistakes, but that's what gardening's about ... Now, if they could just give me an extra 20 metres or so of garden for me to play in, that I'd like ;D ... cheers ...

At this moment in time, I'd be absolutely delighted because they would have had to have tidy it up and get rid of the junk first!!!
If, in a few years time and I'd started work on the garden and was proud of my work, they'd come in and changed it all around, I'd be a bit miffed.
If I'd got the garden as I was happy with it and they came in and did it, I'd be proper pissed off.
However, they're more than welcome to come and do my garden now if they so wish!!

i think my first reaction would be to be a bit miffed. why do they think it needed a makeover in the first place. but secretly I'd love them to re-lay the paths. as long as they kept of my plants

Well I'd be devastated. I do think, however that the main thing to help with the block you can get with gardening is to pick an area and work on it until it is done and then everything else can start to radiate from that. Perhaps if you have a hand with that initial germ of an idea, the rest that follows on can be more inspiring.
I also think you really need to know your area. Sun position, shade, frost pockets, wind tunnel etc and they can't do that by just turning up for a day!
Maybe a working party to help clear and hard landscape would be more useful than a complete makeover!! ;D

I'd be totally livid. My garden might look a mess but its my mess and its slowly coming together. I think those sorts of programmes are for people who dont really like gardening, but want something nice to look at out the kitchen window. Karl wouldn't do it any way - he likes his bits where they are ;D
