Does anyone know if that poor dog was actually sheared by the old shepherd It looks really scared - if so it should be BANNED Every time I see it I cringe It is an old man shearing his sheep (for those who havent seen it) and cos he needs spex he thinks his sheep dog is a sheep and shears it

I don't think they'd allow it if it was JW. They probably did "shear" it to give the effect that the old man had done it but they are well trained dogs anyway so I wouldn't worry about it.

I read somewhere that animal stars sometimes get more money than the actors!!! ;D And there are far more laws protecting their welfare while filming I don't know how they manage to train an animal to act frightened (like the Jack russell in the car advert) without actually inducing that state in the training process . It is rather worrying

Thanks Rita - I notice many are in favour of the ad - obviously not animal lovers - I shall post my own comments which wont be good

Its a load of rubbish, are they saying, that an experienced sheep shearer, couldnt feel the difference, between a sheep and a dog,

Do you think the dog was hurt in any way?

Probably not hurt but he must have been scared having to be sheared and he looks scared too in the ad - but the film makers wudnt care about that wud they - he was just THE DOG in the ad

I read somewhere that the dog wasn't actually sheared, it was done by computer graphics.
