I've been meaning to praise John Lewis for a while now. We ordered a TV off the internet and were advised that John Lewis would contact us within 5 working days to arrange delivery. They phoned 2 days later and arranged to deliver that week (convenient to me), giving me a time band of 3 hours. On the allotted day they duly arrived with the TV within the time band.
Everything was fine (I still don't know how to work it mind but I hardly watch it anyway).
There was a free 5 year guarantee with it (which was the main reason we got it from JL) but I didn't have a receipt, only a order confirmation. So I went on the website and E mailed them. They replied within 24 hrs and said I should've had a receipt and they'd send me one. Came 2 days later.
All in all I was impressed. Very unlike some of the retail experiences I've had in recent times.

I must just praise my computer tekkie Tim. I managed to "lose" (goodness knows how!) Word and Excel from my computer today, which was a nightmare because I need them for work. Anyway I phoned my boss and explained that I had tried reinstalling Office and the like, and he was great and said that I should contact my computer guy and keep him posted. So this evening I phoned Tim (the husband of one of my bestest friends) and explained the problem. He was amazing - I had to type in a web address, then some numbers and he then had control of my computer. I watched as he clicked and deleted stuff, and then he asked me to insert the disk. It turned out I'd inserted the wrong one earlier!!! Anyway I now have Excel and Word, and it's cost me a bottle of wine!!! Oh and I'm in charge of my computer again!!! ;D

For a change I have a praise ! A nice man from 3 phoned me today and offered me an upgrade on my mobile phone. Which is nice I also got a discount as a loyalty bonus and now have 750 texts and 200 minutes for £10.00 a month ;D Exceptional good value I'm thinking

Not really, but as I am only paying £10.00 a month it doesnt seem worth changing. Not going to get anything cheaper than that am I ;D cant run a PAYG for a tenner a month. Its also handy when Rebecca runs out of texts (about 3 days after she gets them usually!) All her mates have my mobile number Just had a butchers at the phone I am getting too - looks nice mind you my current phone is brilliant, and in great condition. Can you sell your old mobile phone when you get an upgrade?

I think I will probably keep hold of it. Karl is not very good with phones (dropped one in the pond and another in a bucket of gobbo!) He is a rufty tufty builder so they come in for some right punishment! I expect he will end up with it Its always worth telling them you are thinking about changing providers or that you have had a better offer. Most phone companies will do you a good deal, especially if you have been with them for a while. Be cheeky T mobile are not very flexible but 3 are great, and although they dont have a very good reputation I have not had much bother. In fact I really like them. Better than vodafone anyway, their customer service is woeful had some right barneys with Vodafone. So I sacked em and went back to 3 ;D

We are moving one of our factories and I must give praise to the young lad who is acting as the agent for the prospective landlords. I know he is being paid as an agent but he has been superb in making sure we are all in touch with each other and doing a lot of the things solicitors charge a fortune for.
I'm sure further down his career he will slow down but, at the moment, we are very grateful that he has the foresight to use the telephone and speak to us all as well as pass on information that those in officialdom do at a snails pace.
Thank you Steve!!!! ;D

I really must praise Lakeland after a bit of aggro. I went to one of their shops a few weeks ago specificially for one item, which was out of stock. So when I got back home I ordered it online, along with some other things.
A few days later I received an e-mail saying that my order had been packed and dispatched.
A week later it still hadn't arrived so I phoned to find out what was going on. A very nice lady told me that the parcel had gone out but that I shoudl have received it. I already knew that! Anyway she offered to have the order repacked and redispatched, and if I could be at home the next day she would arrange for priority delivery. I agreed this but pointed out that I would have to go out and collect LP from school, and we had commitments in the afternoon. That didn't seem a problem. So I waited in the whole day and the parcel didn't arrive. I collected LP from school and later on we started getting ready to go out. Ten minutes before we were going out I telephoned Lakeland and was told that the parcel could come any time until 6.00pm. I explained that I was going out so she asked me to write a note, saying where the parcel could be left. This I did and just as I was putting the note out the parcel was delivered.
I quickly opened my parcel only to discover that the specific item I wanted was no longer available. I was cross by this time because they should have told me this when my order was packed for the second time. I phoned again and explained the problem to yet another very nice lady who said that she would try and find my item and phone me back. She rang while we were driving so spoke to LP and said that she'd tracked down my item and would get it in the post to me. I didn't have much faith!
A few days later I got a letter from Lakeland giving me £25 credit on my account. And the next day my item arrived! I telephoned to pay by credit card and was told they would give me the item, worth £12.50, because of all the hassle I had been through. Well you can't say fairer than that! It basically works out that I got my whole order for free.
I posted a card to the ladies who had helped track down my item in another shop, and thanked them.

My local GC has a 2 year guarantee on its perenials, as long as you take it back with your receipt, never had to use it before but the perenial sweet pea I bought last year, I must admit at a reduced price, pegged it. I took it back with out much hope to be honest although I did have the pot and the tag from the plant. She couldnt offer me a refund without receipt but they did give me a credit note for another one. So I am once again the proud owner of a lovely healthy sweetpea and found a cheap skimmia as well. Well done them!!

I have resurrected this thread to praise Bestpricedbrands.co.uk. where I have just bought my new camera incredibly cheaply! , and got it incredibly quickly! It has arrived (carriage free) from America in 4 days!!! It was only £112 (cheapest in shops was £149.99, and rrp is about £180 I think) and I got a 2gb SD card for £10.99 at the same time . Also, the website was offering a free camera case but as it didn't get a mention in the ordering process I emailed them, and a very nice lady got straight back to me and said the offer was finished, but she would give me a £10 refund (case was £9.99) So, a pleasure doing business with them and I've ended up with 2 camera cases!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
