Gas barbie for me. It will be barked up this afternoon for the first time since bonfire night.
I've got chicken drumsticks in my own secret smokey BBQ sauce...it's so secret that i'll give you the ingredients
2 parts tomato ketchup 1 part soy sauce 1 part brown sugar 1 part golden syrup
That's the basic sauce and then you can add stuff to it such as
Dash lime juice garlic chilli finely chopped onions ginger.
Will also be doing a curry sauce for the drumsticks using greek yoghurt, cumin powder, turmeric and any other spice you can think of for curries
There will be a potato salad...new potaoes mixed with a cream cheese and finely chopped fresh mint.
And honey roasted potatoes and also an egg fried rice in soy sauce, garlic and honey.
Come on...let's have your barbeque favourites.

I'm too lazy for all that faffing about. Vegetables, seasoned, usually with various herbs, caraway for carrots etc, drizzle of olive oil in foil parcel, on BBQ. Meat, sometimes marinaded, either side cooked or joints in foil, (yes I like foil!!) on bed of herbs and onion side cooked for a couple of hours then flashed on the flames. We cook most meals outside in the summer, tonights included, pork steaks on the charcoal rather than gas. Like the smell, love the taste, even better when bits have been grabbed from the garden, just don't do long time kitchen prep!! ;D

I hate the smell of BBQs and people tend to have them during the day at weekends when I have my washing out! We haven't bought a BBQ so never cooked on one before. I have gone to other people's and have enjoyed them. PJ

Tonight we had Red Mullet and ribs on the BBQ. Strange combination but that's what you do with BBQ!!! Red Mullet sucks. Too small, too many bones. Anyone want a pack of frozen, whole red Mullet?...........They need de scaling and gutting before you even start! With it we had pasta salad (from yesterday's BBQ) and potato salad a la coronation chicken.....no chicken, just coronation sauce made up with yoghurt instead of mayo 'cos I'm trying to lose weight (don't tell OH tho'. He thinks it had mayo in it!!!!) And we had salad including some of my own mixed salad leaves from the garden....lovely!

As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as BBQ season in this area. If it is warm enough to eat outside, then it is certain that the midgies will be out in force.
