There was a post last year about the failure of wisteria to flower although there were plenty of flower buds. It was thought that it was caused by lack of water.......but despite the wettest winter in a long time, my wisteria once again produced buds but no flowers? the buds seemed to be full of dust. As I remember Wee Terrier had a similar problem, how was your wisteria this year, any improvement? I have told my wisteria in no uncertain terms that next year is it's last chance, no flowers and I dig it up and plant something else, (to be decided) Any advice is very welcome Woobats

I think this Thread will be moved shortly into Gardening Chat Woo so look out for it there - there is another Thread going right now on Wisteria Dont dig it up - I almost did after seven years of no flowers and then it gave me ONE and the year later masses and masses - same this year - it is a slow one to flower

It was an already established plant when we moved here in august 2001, so I make that seven years ago all but. but it did get a very severe pruning when we first moved in but has only had the usual pruning in the autumn since ? Should I feed it and if so when and with what? ? I really don't want to dig it up, but it's really getting me down (

I think it is February when you give it the first pruning of the year and then back to a certain amount of buds - wud have to check my Garden Book Mine is now in the shape of a Shrub - it was proving too difficult to keep track of it growing across the house ie putting in tacks and wire to keep it up - keep at it - dont dig it up whatever you do
