Hi all, Am i alone in thinking that the Chelsea Flower Show is an elitist show which bares no resemblance to normal gardening and gardens ?? I love Mr T, i love all the presenters but i CANT STAND this show or the TV program. These 'creations' are an irrelevance. DISCUSS ! Mr G

Ordinarily I would tend to agree with you Mr G and for that reason I tend not to watch the Chelsea coverage. However, as mentioned earlier on another thread I happened to catch a short programme on BBC Interactive earlier and whilst not what I would want to do in my own garden the designs shown were far less outrageous than usual. I do beg to differ on the view that the sound of running water is relaxing though. In a river or stream maybe, but in the garden, absolutely not as it is very irritating, just like those darn windchimes two doors up! I did happen to catch Diarmuid Gavin's ridiculous (IMO) creation on BBC Breakfast this morning. All very practical I'm sure. Although it was quite amusing when AT strolled into the shot whilst filming for another BBC show. Mr Gavin didn't look at all impressed! ;D

I love watching the coverage if I can but am appalled at the amount of money it costs to create the show gardens. I'm particularly interested this year because one of my mum's friends has a flower display.
Oh and I wasn't sure about the cockney chap until he said that he loved clematis and showed one I've got in my garden!!! ;D
