I read about that Plocket, very interesting project - went on the link - my palms are still sweating just from looking at the pictures I don't do heights over second rung of the step ladder to clean the ground floor windows, think I would freeze and have to be air lifted off, oooh nooooo, that would be even worse! x Tig

Despite the fact that I dont like heights either, I'd do that - so long as the walkway didn't sway. Only problem would be getting up there. Is it steps or a lift?

I'd do it too! ;D It is just the height worry though - it looks static in the photos rather than a swaying thing which I could not do. They can't afford in this day and age for it not to be safe (sides don't look very high do they?)! At the Chelsea Flower Show the rose sellers stands had signs advising you to be careful if you leaned over to smell the roses!!

There is an article on the new tree top walk-way in yesterday's Sunday Mail. It says there are 122 shallow steps to the top Shrub or if visitors can't manage the steps there is a lift. It also says the walk-way is designed to move slightly in the wind but by no more than a couple of inches! Plocket - I was wondering about Kew for a school summer holiday visit and it sounds as though you have been. I haven't been for years. Did you take LP? Was there enough to keep small folk interested? I think my 2 would love the walk-way!

Well done on the research front Jasmine We went to Kew a few years ago - very early spring and lots of dormancy in the gardens but the glass houses were tremendous - huge and varied plants. Lots of walking to do - I could be wrong and my view is based on the time of the year I went of course, but not sure the littlies would be entertained. I'm sure other members can advise better.

Plocket - I was wondering about Kew for a school summer holiday visit and it sounds as though you have been. I haven't been for years. Did you take LP? Was there enough to keep small folk interested? I think my 2 would love the walk-way! I haven't taken LP yet but I'm DYING to take her - there's loads for kids! If they get tired of walking there's a bus thing called the Kew Explorer that drives around the main path and drops off at various points. Once you've bought a ticket you can get on and off as many times as you want. You'll need to check times but when I went a year and a half ago the buses were about every 20 minutes. They'll love climbing up inside the huge glass houses, and in the basement of the Palm House there's aquariums with beautiful fish. Then there's a dedicated children's area called Climbers and Creepers - it looks such fun that I've got to take LP just so I can go in it!!! ;D I can't rave about Kew enough, and even if it's raining there's lots to see in the glass houses. Have a nose around their site Jasmine: www.kew.org/
