My pergola over the koi pond blew down in some of the storms before xmas. Today was the day that i had set aside to put it up again as the rest of the weekend looked pretty awful weather-wise. Had my pal Tony to help, he's just building a koi pond that is 5 times the size of mine. Just got to buy a couple more sheets of trellis to go on the top and i will hopefully have hanging baskets or those plastic hanging pouches from the 5 beams.

That looks very good Andy - how exactly have you got the wood screwed down into the stone - what have you used?
Do you and Tony hire yourselves out then - I am thinking of getting a well bored, I could use some strong arms!!!

That looks very good Andy - how exactly have you got the wood screwed down into the stone - what have you used? The upright posts (4" x4") were put into "metfeet"....a metal plate that holds the posts and can then be screwed down into the concrete. We just drilled down using an 8mm drill bit and used long 5" rawl plugs and screws. We're more like a comedy double act than workers ;D

Wow that looks brill andy what plants are you going to train over it. Karen None i'm afraid...most are poisonous to fish or will pollute the water.

That looks great Andy well done to you both. I would love a pond in the garden but have nowhere to put one but I'm happy just looking at all the pics that everyone puts on here.

All looking fabulous Andy, I'm envious, love fish, though I spend too much time looking at them. Well, I did ,when I had some. Your begonias are doing well too.
