does anyone know what this is:

It was rescued as a scrap of a thing from a closed-down nursery (together with other unidentified bits) and has grown into this fairly unremarkable, but sweet-smelling little shrubby potfull.

Actually, 'wildflower', even 'possible' is a hopeless punt from me.

It has the most remarkable, PT-filling scent... but I wouldn't know a Philadelphus if I saw one Spruance...

Do we go for Philadelphus? Are the leaves right?

Philadelphus Virginal flowers are double OM, I reckon you have a P. coronarius.

It only had a very simple single flower but oh that scent! Fabulous!
