does anyone know what this is: It was rescued as a scrap of a thing from a closed-down nursery (together with other unidentified bits) and has grown into this fairly unremarkable, but sweet-smelling little shrubby potfull. Actually, 'wildflower', even 'possible' is a hopeless punt from me. OM.

It's not a Philadelphus by any chance is it OM? Would be flowering about now too. Is it heavily scented?

Certainly looks like one OM Cheers, Andy, and well... the evidence is building. Philadelphus eh? Not a very remarkable find then, I guess. I should post pics of the others here too, to see what else was salvaged as I really have little (or no) idea. Light's no good now, maybe tomorrow... OM.

When I was a child we had a really big old Mock Orange tree in the garden, about 12-15ft. It only had a very simple single flower but oh that scent! Fabulous!

Just googled P. coronarius and yep - I reckon it could be that, and what a good job I asked... it might have gone in the front of a border...
OM.
