I have been watering my newly laid turf every night.... this morning when I looked out there were toadstools all over it...is this right or am I doing something wrong?
Do I leave them or do I have to use something to get rid of them...I am hoping to give it it's first cut at the weekend if it is dry.

Not sure Missy, but perhaps there were spores in the turf when you got it. If you hadn't watered it, it would have dried out. Would it be possible to pick them, or are there too many?

Try and pick them out so they don't re-spore. But you should also get in contact with the people who supplied your turf because I would have though you should be supplied with toadstool-free grass. Mind you if they want to inspect the grass they might need to see the toadstools. What a pain.

I think you definitely have a serious issue with your turf supplier Missy I have a toadstool problem with the sleepers which form the edging to a lot of my garden (laid before my time) and have not yet found anything which has killed them The spores have spread into some containers and they are becoming a serious pain in the @rse! I think you may need to lift your infected turf pretty rapidly before your underlying soil is infested!!!!! It's not just spores you have to worry about but also mycelium which spreads underground!!

I must have missed this thread NO and MRH did you get the toadstools problem sorted. I had some growing in one of my compost bins a while back, maybe I should have removed them too
