Hi All,
I need to order some stuff from Decorating Direct in the UK; they only do mail order. Has anyone had any experience with this company? I'm ordering paint stripper for an antique fireplace - thanks to advice on the board - and it's quite dear, so I'd be interested if anyone has had dealing with them ... cheers ...

I haven't I'm afraid, but I can recommend tooled-up.com. I checked, and they sell paint stripper, might not be the kind you want though.

Hi Wee - thanks for that; I checked though, and they don't do this product - seems to be exclusive to DD. Oh well, I read about this company in the Guardian so hopefully they'll be OK ... cheers ...

If it's the peel off stuff, it's worth buying. Unfortunately I have no experiance of DD either.
And don't forget our before and after photos of the fireplace!!!!

Hi Amo, yes, it's the peel-off stuff for the fireplace - NOBODY in Ireland seems to stock it. Last week I bought a gorgeous brass and copper coal scuttle with porcelain handles in our local charity shop, which has given me the incentive to fiinally tackle all the layers of gloss paint so we can have a fire this winter (actually, given the way the weather's going, may be earlier than that) ... cheers ...

The peel-off stripper is so much better. You'll feel so satisfied when your fireplace is all done. Cannot think why you would have any trouble with DD. I have hardly ever been disappointed when dealing with online companies. In fact, I hardly visit the shops these days. Go for it girl
