Beetroot looking good FB. I had a crop last year and hoping for more this year. When did you plant your seeds? I planted a few seeds in April and promptly forgot about them. Maybe I should have a look at mine now.

Tig, there is still plenty of time to sow some more. I've pulled my first ones today and I've got some more starting off in modules. Shrub, I don't earth mine up, but I suppose it could help if watering is a problem - I will be interested to hear how you get on

Yes, I know Fb! ;D Speaking of which, I must have missed a few last year when I was digging them up - I've about a dozen plants in various parts of the veg patch now. Dilemma - do I dig them up or should I leave them?

Ta Fb. Do you reckon they'll inhibit the onion growth though?

Post by farmersboy on Jun 30, 2008 6:05:52 GMT
Isuppose it could do,if they are very close, but then again, would you not disturb the onions if you pulled them up

I found that I had been a real numptey when cooking beetroot as I always peeled them first - its a lot less messy if they are cooked with the skins on and peeled later Thats a good looking crop FB
