Not weird but a bit of cross pollination I think - this is my white astrantia and this has grown nearby from a self sowing - deffo a hint of pink in the middle! Also spotted this lychnis coronaria in the front garden

Thanks LG - it was exciting waiting for the bud to open and see what I'd got This was a surprise .... I bought a pack of gladdies called Lakeland from Wilkies earlier this year. Thought they would look 'cool' with the silver of the abies lasiocarpa Compacta whilst it is still small. Think Wilkies must have got their stock from T & M ... no idea what these are, but deffo not Lakeland

Goodness that is weird LG - I wonder what would grow if you saved seeds from it! I'd almost be afraid to try Tig but as it's growing at the allotment my intention was to let them all set seeds for the birds. If they don't go all soggy I'll see if I can get some and give them a go perhaps.

Well spotted RF - it is on one of those I grew from seed! I was very surprised when I realised what it was doing in subtropical Staffordshire

I assume that is 'it' RF - not sure if anything will pollinate it, but I could eventually get seeds
