Hi everyone. Haven't been posting much lately as there has been alot of real life stuff occuring Anyway, feeling quite blue today. We adopted a beautiful 9 week old tabby kitten from the RSPCA on saturday, and I fell madly in love with her, as did the kids. Unfortunately, hubby developed a serious allergy overnight, and we had to take her back yesterday Oh, how I wish we hadn't named her and got attatched! We called her Sassy, and she was a gorgeous and affectionate little thing. The boys were heartbroken, and we all spent yesterday in tears. Poor hubby is still suffering, his chest is very tight and he feels quite ill. I've cleaned the house from top to bottom, washed and hoovered everything and booked him in to the doc's tonight. I really think that if we'd kept her he would have ended up in hospital Lousy situation all 'round. Sorry for the moan

Noticed you hadn't been around RM. Allergies seem to be increasing nowadays, there is hardly anyone left who can visit me since I re-homed a couple of cats. Is your husband in "the dog house" or do the children understand? Poor man. How is your wee one doing? I'm sure we'd all like to know.

Hello RM, I did notice you'd not been around much. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so blue. It sounds as 'tho you're having a tough time of it. How sad you could'nt keep the little cat but hubby's health is of course what's important. Hope he gets well soon. Some people take really bad reactions to cats, fortunately I'm not one of them, I've always had at least 1 cat, he's part of the family. Hope you all feel better soon.

That is such a shame RM. But with such a strong reaction, there was nothing else you could do.

Oh RM, what a shame Did he not know before that he was allergic? No wonder you're sad So easy to get attached to animals quickly, specially when they're cute and aren't they all?

What a shame RM - but you weren't to know when you had the kitten. I hope your OH gets something from the doc to ease his allergic reaction. I read somewhere recently that it isn't the cats fir that affects most people it is the dried saliva from washing themselves that comes off as dust and causes the reaction Have another hug from me x Tig

Thanks everyone No NO, DH had had a cat growing up with no problems, so we assumed he'd be ok. If anything, I was concerned about my eldest, as he has asthma. Sods law, though, that he was fine, but hubby got it bad! He's off to the doc's after work, so hopefully they can give him something to ease his symptoms

Oh dear Rosemother that's a tough one. Of course you couldn't keep little Sassy but it's such a wrench. I hope your OH feels better soon, and perhaps he could have some tests done to see if there are some animals he's NOT allergic to. Perhaps it's not actually the cat
