This is an idea I've been trying out for a winter basket. It's was one of those white plastic coated wire lantern type hanging baskets. Some of the plastic had perished so ages ago I popped it in to the burny bin with some papers and burnt off the rest of the plastic. It now has a rustic rusty sort of look to it I planted it some time ago with ivy that I'd actually pulled out of the garden and have been training it around the bottom bit and up the sides. Ok ;D I'm a cheap skate and could have had a much better display if I'd gone and bought ivy ;D

Good job Chuckles, that is a great bit of recycling Steve - what a tidy front you have, very inviting - do you decorate your front door with a festive wreath? With mulled wine for visitors ;D x Tig

Well erm the door was painted black a few weeks ago its better then when it was white i think. The Pyracantha on both sides of the door are about 2/3yrs old and i wish they would hurry up and grow ;D The baskets were only planted a few weeks ago and i wish they would hurry up and grow too ;D I do put a wreath on the door and i would love to make one if i knew how or had the time. Its a bit different from the tower block i grew up in ;D No mulled wine but plenty of plain old ;D red
