I haven't got a photo so I will try and describe the plant instead. From a distance it looks like a large french lavender shrub but the flowers are definitely more blue. I'm sure its a kind of herb though there is no distinctive smell. The leaves are more feathery than a lavender though the same colour but more succulent. It seems to thrive in a gravel garden. Has anyone got any ideas please, I've had all my books out and got nowhere

Could it be a Perovskia/ Russian Sage J-Lo? Or has it got the flowers with ears?

I wondered if it was a sage but the flowers do have "ears" and look like a cross between a lavender hidcote and a french lavender, its really bugging me now I will have to take a sneaky picture.
